I grew up north of Niagara Falls. I always got a kick out of his ad for money lenders "Big Bob and Pal Al the Happiness Boys", and "Mama Goldstein's top of the vine wine." And his closing, "I want all of my pretties and all of my daddies to play it straight on the street; and the Hound says, 'later for you baby...LATER'"!! always left me feeling a little sad that the evening's program was over.

How great to find this site,...I graduated from Cleveland Hill HS in 1960, and the Hound was Must listen to fare every evening. We never missed a car show in Buffalo, especially knowing the Hound was spinning records live from there. There's a memory from Hans Ylmar, who lived across the street from where I worked. (I remember his dark green Studebaker) !! John C

I remember seeing Little Richard at the Club Zanzibar in 1956-57. Of course I found out the he was playing there thanks to the Hounds promotion on the radio. Also around 1954 my friend and I would sit up in his bedroom smoking cigarettes listening to George. Thanks George RIP

Short & sweet- I came to the US in the late 70s, so I didn't know about the Hound Dog - but I saw Carl Perkins at Melody Fair in the late 80s. Between songs, he stopped and said "Whenever I'm around Buffalo, I make a point of mentioning one of the guys who broke me in - I'm talking about Hound Dog Lorenz". Good enough for me!

I was in my early teens when I used to listen to the "Hound". Also, I was a member of his fan club. The membership card had George's photo on one side. I wish I still had that card. The man totally rocked!!
